Culpability Diversion: A Trend in Corruption Cases!!

When you point your finger at someone DO NOT FORGET

three fingers are pointing back at you!

“A man should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is but saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday”
Alexander Pope

Blame Game; a term often heard while the politicians appear publically and the idiom is being echoed everywhere in the air. It’s not just the story of a single state, it’s happening elsewhere in the world besides our state Pakistan. Instead of a proper accountability process there is huge loud and cries if someone is caught for their corruption charges, this loud voice is used to throw pebbles upon other’s to hide one’s wrong doings. There are endless examples in the recent days which can be quoted under the title of Blame Game.
Ex- presidents, prime ministers and politicians who enjoyed their authorities with an open hand towards corruption; and when their tenure ended their reputation was not questioned even then for any illegal attempt of power by the accountability bodies which were established, so that they can have a watch on the smooth drive of establishment government without the influence of the menace called CORRUPTION in the society. Amazingly it is happening even the law enforcement
agencies do have evidences against their attempt of being dishonest towards their mother land.

Thus, it is a painful feeling for the nation when they are not properly answered for the queries they have, regarding the cases of corruption which are discussed openly on every day basis on all over the media but nothing comes out as a “strict legal action” against the responsible person. Either the politicians take advantage of these situations and play the Blame Game, pointing out fingers at each other without realizing the mistakes being attempted from their side of corner WHY?

Why cannot they learn to accept their previous mistakes and avoid performing their art of denial for something that has actually being done by them? There are endless number of examples throughout the world which teaches us that by accepting for something been done wrong is not a crime but it takes a lot of courage and sophistication to do that. Few of such examples which came before my sight are as follows:
  •     US Vice President Spiro Theodore Agnew resigned in 1973 over an investigation by the US Attorney’s office in Maryland for financial irregularities.
  •   Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin resigned in 1977 on disclosure that his wife inadvertently left behind an unclosed bank account with minimum balance in Washington following his term as an ambassador there, contrary on the Israeli foreign exchange regulations at that time.
  •  Indian Defense Minister, George Fernandes resigned in 2001 over allegations of bribery and arms dealing.

In Pakistan it’s a peak time going on for all the politicians who had five years to transform the country’s status from a land of poverty, instable legally and financially, rule of terror around (even in the residential areas which is though an alarming situation) to a land of peace, harmony , resources, opportunities for the youth to groom well for a bright future. But , ALAS ALAS ALSAS!! We are still standing at the same point and if I say in worst condition then it would not be wrong either. It truly hurts one when we see our dearest
homeland have got:
  •          Second largest salt mine.
  •          Fifth largest coal reserves.
  •          Seventh largest copper mine.
  •          Second largest dam in the world.
  •          Third nuclear reactor.
  •          Sixth largest and army.
  •          Third largest milk producer .
  •          Seventh largest rice producer.
  •          Eight largest wheat producer.

But still have no complete authority to set its goals by itself according to the will and for the betterment of the people of Pakistan, WHY? Worldwide, bribery alone is estimated to involve over 1 trillion US dollars annually. A state of unrestrained political corruption is known as a Kleptocracy, literally meaning "rule by thieves". Does my country falls in the same sort??
